The Leveler uses a custom algorithm that evens out dynamics and lifts the overall level, while leaving the character of the sound intact.

Controls:

  • INPUT – How hard you’re driving the compressor.
  • OUTPUT – The level after compression.
  • RELEASE – How quickly the gain recovers.
  • SYMMETRY – Balances waveforms that sit mostly above or below the zero line.

Most of these will feel familiar if you’ve used compressors before, but SYMMETRY deserves a closer look.

Bass and guitar often produce asymmetric waveforms: more signal above the zero line than below (or the reverse). The problem? Asymmetric notes compress unevenly, so some notes jump out while others get buried. SYMMETRY fixes that. It evens the playing field so every note speaks clearly, consistently, and confidently.

For bass and guitar, crank SYMMETRY to the max and enjoy rock-solid levels.
For drums or other percussive sounds, where the transients are the main event, you’ll often get better results by backing it off.
