We’re excited to roll out a highly requested update that makes Stratus even easier and more flexible to use!
You can now switch between Looper, Stompbox, and Preset modes directly from the mobile app. No need to tap dance. Just connect to your Stratus, open Settings, and tap to switch modes!
Important: This feature requires both a mobile app update and a Stratus firmware update.
What this means for your workflow
Stratus is designed to adapt to how you play, not force you into a single setup. With app-based mode switching, it is now easier than ever to move between different ways of using your pedal.
- Looper Mode - Toggle the entire effects chain on or off and take full control of the looper. Perfect for practice, songwriting, and layering parts on the fly.
- Stompbox Mode - Control individual effects like a traditional pedalboard. Turn effects on and off independently and treat Stratus like a familiar chain of pedals.
- Preset Mode - Recall your saved presets with a single tap. Quickly jump between sounds you have already dialed in and stored locally.
All three modes are now just a tap away in the app.

This release also includes several under-the-hood upgrades that make Stratus faster, more stable, and better prepared for future features.

Most of these changes work quietly in the background, but you should notice quicker responses and more consistent behavior during longer sessions.
How to enable Stratus Mode Switching
To use this new feature, make sure both of the following are up to date.
1) Update the Chaos Audio mobile app
The latest version of the mobile app is now available on iOS and Android.

2) Update your Stratus firmware
Stratus Mode Switching also requires the latest firmware, which can be installed using the Stratus Update Tool on Mac or Windows.

Once both updates are complete, connect your phone to Stratus, open Settings, and select your desired mode.
