Connect instruments and microphones to Nimbus

Nimbus’s two combo inputs are intended for instruments or microphones, with independent input volume controls.

Choose a starting sound
| Source | Start with |

| Electric guitar | An appropriate amp model, then a cabinet IR if the capture needs one. |
| Acoustic-electric guitar | A clean chain; add EQ or reverb after checking the unprocessed sound. |
| Bass | A bass-appropriate sound at a moderate listening level. Avoid promises of unlimited low-frequency output from a compact cabinet. |
| Keyboard | A clean input path; verify the final mono/stereo routing for your setup. |
| Microphone | A suitable microphone and conservative input gain, with the speaker positioned to avoid feedback. |
Connect and set levels
- Start with input and listening levels down.
- Connect to the input matching your cable and source.
- Bring up levels gradually and check a simple clean sound before adding effects.
Phantom power and channel routing
Do not assume that an XLR socket supplies phantom power. Earlier Nimbus documentation specifies no onboard phantom power; confirm microphone power requirements before connecting. Final per-input effects routing is still awaiting production confirmation. Two inputs do not by themselves promise two independent effects chains.
