Play backing tracks through Nimbus
By Landon McCoy · Updated September 10, 2026
Nimbus adds Bluetooth audio streaming for backing tracks alongside the app’s separate Bluetooth control connection.
Nimbus production preview. This guide describes the current announced design. Nimbus is available for preorder; final hardware details and operating instructions may change before shipment.
Two different Bluetooth jobs
| Connection | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Chaos Audio app control | Edit settings, manage presets, and transfer supported effects. |
| Bluetooth audio streaming | Play backing tracks from an audio source through Nimbus. |

Set up a practice session
Start with playback volume low. Connect your instrument and establish its sound, then add the backing-track audio using the production unit’s pairing instructions. Keep the track and instrument levels balanced.
AUX and simultaneous sources
Earlier design material describes AUX and simultaneous playback sources. Final mixing, source selection, and input-to-effects routing should be checked in the production guide. Do not assume every source can use an independent effects chain.
Stratus difference
Stratus’s app-control connection does not provide this backing-track speaker function. The shared app features and Nimbus’s additional audio I/O are separate capabilities.
