Use Nimbus with Stratus or other pedals

By Landon McCoy · Updated September 10, 2026

You can plan a rig with external pedals feeding Nimbus while using the same Chaos Audio effects and presets across Stratus and Nimbus.

Nimbus production preview. This guide describes the current announced design. Nimbus is available for preorder; final hardware details and operating instructions may change before shipment.

A simple audio path

Instrument → external pedal(s) → Nimbus input. Start with low levels and add one pedal at a time. If you use Stratus before Nimbus, avoid unintentionally stacking two amp/cabinet stages.

Add external pedals one at a time. Instrument: Start with a known working signal. External pedals: Stratus or other pedals shape the sound. Nimbus input: Start low; check for doubled amp/cab stages. Production preview · Audio and pedal-power connections are separate.

Shared library, separate devices

Sign into the same account to access your sounds. Each device still needs its own effect installation and preset sync. Sharing software features does not turn Stratus’s mono output into Nimbus’s expanded I/O.

Power is a separate connection

Before powering Stratus or another pedal from Nimbus, check the final pedal-power output specifications against that pedal’s requirements. See Nimbus power and Stratus power requirements.
