Power Stratus and prevent power noise
By Landon McCoy · Updated September 10, 2026
Use a center-negative 9V DC supply rated for at least 400mA. An isolated power output is recommended.
Before connecting power
- Check the voltage, DC marking, center-negative polarity, and current rating on the supply.
- Use a dedicated isolated output. Avoid sharing a daisy-chain power lead with other pedals.
- USB-C can power Stratus, but some USB power sources introduce audio noise.

Startup
Connect power and wait for the blue/pink startup animation to finish. The LEDs should then respond to the controls.
If you hear hum or noise
- Turn down the listening volume. Try the recommended isolated 9V supply.
- Disconnect unnecessary USB connections and simplify the audio chain.
- Test the guitar and cables with the amp or interface directly, then add Stratus back.
- If noise remains, send support your power-supply label and a description of the complete rig.
