Use headphones or record directly with Stratus
By Landon McCoy · Updated September 10, 2026
Connect Stratus OUT to an audio interface, mixer, or headphone amplifier. Stratus does not have a dedicated headphone output.
Headphone setup
- Connect guitar → Stratus IN.
- Connect Stratus OUT → the input of your interface, mixer, or headphone amplifier.
- Plug headphones into that device and start with its volume low.
- For an interface, select direct monitoring or the appropriate recording-software monitor path. Route the mono input to both ears.

Amp and cabinet sound
For a complete direct guitar sound, try a compatible NAM amp model followed by a cabinet IR. A capture that already includes a cabinet may not need another IR. See NAM models and IRs.
Bluetooth and USB
The app’s Bluetooth connection controls Stratus; it does not send guitar audio to your phone or Bluetooth headphones. Do not assume Nimbus’s USB audio-interface or headphone hardware is present on Stratus.
