Use cabinet impulse responses (IRs)

A cabinet IR adds the frequency and time response of a captured speaker-and-microphone setup. Use it after an amp model for a typical direct guitar chain.

Applies to: Stratus and Nimbus.

Add an IR

  1. Open Pedalboard → Add Effect → IMPULSE RESPONSES.
  2. Choose a library IR, browse TONE3000, or upload a WAV IR file.
  3. Install it to your connected Stratus or Nimbus.
  4. Place it after the amp/drive stage and compare at a comfortable level. Use the pack selector if several IRs are available.

Controls

ControlPurpose
MixBlend dry and IR-processed signal. Fully wet is a useful starting point for cabinet simulation.
OutputMatch the listening level to the rest of your preset.

Length and storage

The latest firmware uses up to 1024 samples of the response. Longer files are shortened for playback; uploading a longer IR does not increase that limit. There is no fixed ten-IR library limit in this workflow; available storage applies.

Avoid doubling the cabinet sound

A full-rig NAM capture or real guitar cabinet may already supply the cabinet character you want. Compare with the IR bypassed before stacking another cabinet stage.

Troubleshooting

For no sound, check installation, bypass, Mix, and Output. For an unsuitable tone, try another cabinet or mic capture. See CPU limits and private uploads.
