Connect TONE3000 and find compatible captures

TONE3000 lets you browse community NAM captures and IRs from the Chaos Audio app. Choose compatible files and read the creator’s notes.

Add a capture
- In Chaos Audio, open Add Effect → NAM AMP MODELS or IMPULSE RESPONSES.
- Continue to the model picker and choose its TONE3000 option, labeled Discover… Tones in the tutorial. Follow TONE3000’s sign-in prompts; the tutorial uses an email verification code. This is a separate sign-in from your Chaos Audio account.
- Choose a capture or pack and complete the return to Chaos Audio.
- Keep internet access and the hardware connection available while the item is added to your account, downloaded, and installed. Wait for those steps to finish, then enable the NAM/IR card and test it. If installation was not completed automatically, install the library item on the connected device.
Accounts and packs
Your Chaos Audio account and TONE3000 sign-in serve different purposes. A pack may contain multiple model or microphone choices; select the one you want in the effect’s selector. The whole TONE3000 catalog is not a list of files guaranteed to work on your device.
FX Builder references are a separate workflow
FX Builder can use a reference while creating code. That does not make the generated effect identical to loading the original NAM capture. In the latest workflow, the builder checks its available library first and may request a TONE3000 connection when needed.
If the return or download fails
Check connectivity and complete the sign-in flow once. If you return without an item, reopen the picker and try again. If the item exists in your account but not on the pedal, follow hardware installation.
Browse by capture type
Use the available filters for Amp + Cab, Amp Head, Cabinet Only, Pedal, Outboard, or Experimental captures. Read the type and creator’s notes, then choose a compatible variant. Amp Head captures generally need a cabinet IR for direct monitoring; Amp + Cab captures can already include the cabinet/microphone response, so another cabinet stage may be unnecessary.
Capture your own gear
TONE3000 Capture provides instructions for recording a sweep through your gear or uploading a matching dry/wet pair. Cloud training creates a NAM file. Before installing the result on Chaos Audio hardware, confirm its model architecture is supported; training a NAM does not by itself guarantee compatibility.
