Connect Stratus or Nimbus to the app

By Landon McCoy · Updated September 10, 2026

Make the control connection inside the Chaos Audio app. Pairing only in your phone’s Bluetooth settings does not complete app setup.

Applies to: Stratus and Nimbus.

Connect

  1. Power the hardware and wait for startup to finish.
  2. Enable Bluetooth on your phone or tablet. Allow the Bluetooth/Nearby devices permission requested by the app.
  3. Open Chaos Audio. Follow the connection prompt, or open Settings and choose the device scan option.
  4. Select your device and wait until the app reports it as connected.
  5. Open Pedalboard and check that controls respond. Keep the device connected while installing effects or syncing presets.
Connect inside the Chaos Audio app. Power + Bluetooth: Let hardware finish startup; allow permissions. Scan in the app: Open Settings and find your device. Select + connect: Keep connected for installs and preset sync. App control changes settings. Guitar audio follows the hardware audio path.

Control connection versus audio

Bluetooth control sends settings and files. Stratus’s instrument sound comes from its audio output. Nimbus also offers a separate Bluetooth audio-streaming capability for backing tracks; that is a different task from connecting the app.

If the device is missing

Move the phone close to the hardware, close another phone’s active control connection, and scan again. See Bluetooth connection troubleshooting for platform-specific permissions.
