Save, back up, and sync presets

Saving a preset, backing it up to your account, and syncing it to hardware are three different actions.

Understand the three copies

Save and back up

  1. Create a sound on Pedalboard and save it as a preset.
  2. Stay signed into the same Chaos Audio account with internet access for personal backup/sync.
  3. On another device, open My Presets and let the account synchronize before editing.

Latest sync behavior

Preview: Recent app updates synchronize preset order and improve recovery from partial failures. Pull-to-refresh in My Presets mirrors the account’s list, including deletions. It is not an independent backup or a way to recover unsynced local work. Save and back up important edits before refreshing or signing out.

Sync for playing without the phone

  1. Connect the target hardware.
  2. Arrange the preset list and choose the hardware sync action, labeled Sync with Stratus in some app versions.
  3. Wait for presets and any required effects to finish transferring.
  4. Test recall on the device or MIDI controller before your session. Reordering the list changes MIDI Program Change positions.

Personal backup versus public sharing

Personal sync does not publish your sounds to the community. Public sharing is a separate action. Presets containing privately uploaded NAM/IR files cannot be shared publicly through Chaos Cloud; see private file uploads.
