What works without the internet or the app?

Once effects and presets are installed on the hardware, you can play them without an internet connection or an open app.

Applies to: Stratus and Nimbus.

Before going offline

  1. Download and install every effect needed by your presets.
  2. Sync the preset list to the hardware.
  3. Test the sounds and onboard or MIDI controls before disconnecting the app.
Prepare once. Play offline.. Install effects: Download and transfer the required files. Sync presets: Store your performance list on the hardware. Test your rig: Check onboard or MIDI recall before the show. Cloud generation and online downloads still need an internet connection.

When internet access is needed

  • Downloading the app, signing in, or recovering an account.
  • Browsing/downloading online effects and TONE3000 content.
  • Creating or refining an effect with cloud-based FX Builder.
  • Backing up or synchronizing presets with your account, and downloading updates.

When the app is useful

Use the app to build chains, edit parameters, manage files, and configure hardware. Once configured, use Stratus’s onboard controls or MIDI control to play without your phone. Nimbus’s hardware I/O differs, but installed effects also process locally.
