Fix update-tool launch or connection problems

Use the latest official update tool, check its system requirements, and try a known USB data cable.

The tool will not launch

  1. Download or update it from the official update page.
  2. Check the current store listing’s OS requirements.
  3. Close the tool fully and restart your computer, then try again.
  4. Keep the exact operating-system message if it still fails; do not disable security protections to force it to open.

The pedal is not detected

  • Let Stratus finish booting.
  • Try a different USB data cable and direct USB port.
  • Check whether a virtual machine or another application has claimed the USB connection.

A firmware update failed

Follow the tool’s recovery instructions and preserve the error text. If the tool is still writing an update, wait for its completion or failure state rather than unplugging. See firmware update steps.
